Know ya worth. Now the marketing can say “starring Academy Award winning actor”. That’s money right there.

I like Jaime Foxx and Michael B Jordan but neither one is as fine as Philip Michael Thomas, I’m sorry.

    3. demanding is a nasty way to put it, he is negotiating for 18m. How something is written is very telling on the bias. The outlet don’t think he deserves it otherwise they would have said “asks for”

The tweet really got that under tone of “look at this uppity nword”

This is extremely common for Oscar winners. The studio should have papered the deal at any cost before the awards if they wanted to lock in his rate. He was considered a front runner for months before winning.

    5. Good, cause you *know* they’ll plaster “Oscar Winner Michael B Jordan” on all their promos.

“Son, what do you mean you need $40 to take out your girlfriend? Who on earth needs $70 to take a girl out to dinner? You think I can afford $150 for you to go out in THIS ECONOMY???”

Demanding? Nah, this is just dynamic pricing. It’s not “demanding” when walmart gets to penny pinch their goods.

Oh please, they were giving Cameron Diaz $22M/Film for movies that tanked. I think they can find the money to pay an Oscar winner.

    9. The price should go up. The movie advertisements are definitely going to say academy award winner, Michael B. Jordan.

    11. Really hate the language being used here. He’s undoubtedly negotiating. If he actually is demanding it, which I doubt – it’s probably because he has other choices. I’m not excited about a Miami Vice reboot and he might not be either.

“demanding” is a subtle dig at tryna make him sound unreasonable, difficult or aggressive for simply asking for his worth, they ain’t fucking slick

    13. NoFaithlessness7508 on

Damn, his agent needs to get serious and make the studios pay the full $20mil

    14. Hmmm it’s almost as if he doesn’t deserve it, funny had it been a Caucasian asking for this after a Oscar win the article would read “white Oscar winner in negotiations to get 18million for upcoming film Miami vice”

    15. And people wonder why Netflix / HBO keep going up in monthly charges.

Get someone else; there’s plenty of other talented black actors dying for a shot to make this work!

    16. should have signed a contract with him earlier. You want Oscar talent you pay Oscar prices.

    17. I’m surprised he wasn’t making that much already for a film. I’ve seen terrible actors get bigger paydays.
